(Bangkok Post file photo)NAKHON PHATHOM -- The Loy Krathong festival has left a woman in misery after she spent one million baht on repairs to her speed boat only to see it burned to the waterline by a single candle-lit krathong. The fire started from the bow and spread over the entire boat before the house caretaker was alerted by bystanders. She had just spent over a million baht on maintenance and repainting of the boat, and planned to use it for work. Ms Karnda said she accepted the mishap and was aware that she could not seek compensation from anyone for her beloved boat. However, she wanted the incident to serve as an example for fire and safety issues concerning the candle-lit krathong next year.
